Some sins masquerade as socially acceptable values. Depending on your culture, pride and envy may be very subtle everyday features of life in your country. In America envy stalks every venue, her green eyes falsely praising you if you have what she wants, silencing you when you are confronted by those who are truly blessed. Of all the sins envy is the easiest to entertain and the hardest to confront. It runs as deeply in us as the root of sin itself, infecting all of our thoughts and actions. Only by grace can we hope to escape its grasp and to remain alert to its temptations
