Gideon Learns He is a Great Warrior and You (Judges 6)

Things have been very bad for the Israelites and suddenly a man who considers himself the least of all men in the least tribe of Israel is tapped for the job of saving the nation. What God saw in Gideon was a mighty man of valor! God is very patient with Gideon, patiently proving to him repeatedly that he really has been called to lead in battle. This is a beautiful picture of finding out that who God sees in us is probably a lot different from how we see ourselves and an illustration of the great patience of God.
