When young men gather on the street, often people become afraid, as if it automatically signals a violent outbreak about to erupt. But what if people just want to gather with their friends and socialize? Where else can they go in the summer heat? Young men should not be criminalized for having no where to go and nothing to do, based on lack of jobs and summer programs. What organizations are creating safe activities for young people this summer that can prevent violence?
