In reality, malicious rumor mongering makes up only a small fraction of what constitutes gossip, media expert Shawne Duperon says. A five-time EMMY® Award winning TV producer, PBS host, networking guru and Ph.D. candidate in interpersonal communications, Shawne has researched how gossip impacts culture, the workplace, media and personal lives. “Gossip is our cultural glue. It is what holds us together,” she says.
