Although the story of Chanukkah is not recorded in the canonical books of the Bible, the Feast of Dedication is mentioned in the New Testament Gospel of John (John 10:22). The miraculous account of the Maccabees victory and re-dedication of the Temple is recorded in the First Book of Maccabees, which is part of the Apocrypha.
